Changes in family dynamics and lifestyles has brought a major shift in home design. In just a few years, the kitchen has moved from the periphery to the heart of the home. Accordingly, the design of kitchens is becoming more interesting and dynamic. Predictions say the kitchens will also consist of a high set and an island in 2020, but this time will become even bolder – taking on different shapes, colors and materials. Rich materials (marble, granite, ceramics, stainless steel …) and bold colors (dark blue, green, terracotta, black, etc.) as well as neutrals are still popular.
With colors, we can impact our emotions and behaviors and bring additional inspiration and positive energy into the home. Try a subdued red, dark blue, mustard, or muted purple. The trend is colored sofas, colorful home textiles (from curtains to rugs, bedspreads, etc.), as well as colored walls. But be careful – when painting walls, you always choose two or three colors, which are combined in the same way on the same surface. This will create an interesting composition that allows you to move furniture around anytime so you never get bored.
Of course, I always suggest my clients that trends should not be followed blindly, but sure they can be a source of inspiration. I have compiled some of the most interesting.
Black and white
Two tone kitchen cabinets are still in, but this time it seems that black and white is among the favorites. This color combo and the it’s contrast make the kitchen stand out. The black and even more often the matte black is reserved for the lower cabinetry or island, while white covers the kitchen’s upper cabinetry.
Navy blue
I’ve chose to start with the Color of the year by Sherwin-Williams. Navy is one of the colors that goes with everything. It looks elegant, or classic that it pairs well with a variety of colors, textures, and styles.

Blue peacock
For those who are not afraid of colors, blue peacock is a color that should be considered. This deep, stylish blue will definitely make a statement. I suggest combining with white or even with natural or metallic finishes.
Light Grey
For a nuetral friendly option that still has color, Grey is a nice introduction to a bit of color without commiting to a bolder choice. This can have blue or brown undertones and set nicely againat a white countertop.
